Balancing My HVAC System

A few months ago, I realized that something was wrong with my HVAC system. It seemed like no matter what I did, some rooms were hot and some rooms were simply getting too much cooled air. Instead of trying to troubleshoot my air conditioner on my own, I called out a professional HVAC repairman for help. They went through each room of my house when the system was running to measure the outgoing airflow and to check for issues. They discovered some serious balance problems, which they resolved after running a few extra lines. Check out this blog to learn more about HVAC in general.

Four Benefits Of Tankless Water Heaters

If you were to take a poll of homeowners across the United States, most people would agree that having a water heater inside their home is one of the most invaluable pieces of technology they own. But what has historically been amazing can be made even better by installing a tankless water heater in your home. Despite the initial upfront cost of a new water heater installation, a tankless water heater provides a number of benefits for you and your household, not just in regards to your wallet, but also your standard of living.

Virtually Limitless Hot Water

A traditional storage tank heater operates by filling up a gigantic tank of water, heating it up, and then distributing it throughout the house. The unfortunate side effect of this is that if too much hot water is demanded at one point in time, you'll have to wait a while before the tank can refill and then reheat the water. Tankless water heaters heat the water as it passes through a series of pipes, which means there's almost no restrictions on the amount of hot water that you can have at one time.

Improved Energy Efficiency

Traditional tank water heaters require a ton of energy not just to fill up a 50 or 80 gallon tank, but also to keep it hot around the clock in case the faucet is turned on. Since a tankless water heater doesn't store any water, it only activates when it's needed, resulting in a much lower energy output. Since a tankless water heater can last 20 years, if not more, you'll see those types of energy savings for years to come.

Fewer Repairs

Corrosion and sediment buildup are the main enemies of any water heater. They can sit on the inside of your unit and eat away at the lining, causing irreparable damage to the pipes that are on the inside in the process. Since tankless water heaters don't have any standing water, you'll have far fewer water heater repairs to deal with over the life of the unit. Not only will springing for a tankless water heater installation save you money and energy, but the longer lifespan and fewer repairs will reap significant financial benefits as well.

Near Instant Hot Water

Because of the size of storage tank water heaters, there's only a few places in your house you can put them, most of which are far away from the exit points. What that means is that the water that comes from that distant point will need to travel quite a ways before it can come out of your pipes and will lose a lot of heat as it passes. Technically, you can do a tankless water heater installation in any room of your house, which greatly reduces the distance hot water has to travel before it leaves the faucet, which also decreases the time spent waiting on the hot water as well.
